This self-care idea may not seem like the first option that comes to mind but there are many fun one-time classes that are great for new moms. Evening and afternoon painting classes are fun and very low-stress. Local galleries and schools often have one-time classes and workshops that are good for beginners. Think about an activity that you’d enjoy doing and find a workshop or class that will teach you the basics.
Exercising is a natural way to improve your mood and make sure that you’re staying healthy at the same time. You don’t have to take up extreme exercise. Taking your baby to a park and going for a walk for a few times a week makes for some great, simple exercise. New moms often enjoy other types of exercise such as yoga or pilates. Try to exercise at least a few times a week to start seeing the benefits. You’ll have more energy in the long run and also get a good mood booster along the way.
